In collaboration with a large number of experts & consultants, we offer full packages of design services, such as structural, mechanical, acoustic, lighting, issue of building permits, full construction drawings, consulatncy in project tendering, implementation management and on-site supervision.
Regarding project presentation & promotion, we offer a wide range of services, ranging from still computer images, architectural models & presentaion brochures to digital animation clips & videos. Many of our projects have been published in various Greek & international books and magazines, such as “Themata Chorou & Technon”, “World of Buildings”, “Casas Mediterraneas”, “National Geographic”, “Living” etc.
Our aim & philosophy is high-level architecture and client-oriented design, with respect to the project budget.
Back in the late eighties, a little yellow book fell into my hands. It was dealing with the harmony between Nature and buildings, in other words dealing with ways and techniques to drop energy consumption and create pleasant and positive interior climatic conditions for the users.
Unfortunately, for some reason I don’t have that book any more, I cannot even recall the name of its American author (God bless him). While reading it and staring at its beautiful freehand sketches (one picture is worth a thousand words), I felt a brand new world had opened up for me, a world I decided to explore…
You know, there is something strange about us, architects; in order to design, we need hints and restrictions. And if those hints and restrictions are not enough, we just invent(!) new ones of our own. In fact, we look for “problems”, in order to understand them in the first place and, eventually, “solve” them.
Well, energy-saving (or bioclimatic) design has provided me with all those missing hints and restrictions. Sun, wind, light and shadow, microclimate, water, day and night, summer and winter, solid and void, I felt all those things somehow were of great importance, just like it used to be many-many years ago, but gradually fell into oblivion, as buildings tended to become more and more Mechanically Supported.
Hence, I have taken just a few steps forward, and I always feel I keep on learning. After all, this is a field, where you can learn from anyone and anything; a craftsman on site, a short comment by a passer-by, a book or even a movie…
I really hope that we end up one day and don’t talk about energy-saving design any more, for it will be an obvious and trivial value incorporated in every single building.
